Buzz Artist Esza Kaye releases a LEX remix (Dj Eddie X & Luigie Gonzalez) of a song from the late Kirsty Macoll, the cult classic “Walking down Madison”. This brand new progressive tribal house track is a hot spin in DJ sets around the world.
While shopping I Wanna Die Loving You to LA songpluggers, Esza Kaye met Jason Dauman of Dauman music. Dauman saw an instant fit with Esza’s NY sensibilities and Macoll’s intense lyrical ode to the streets of NY. Esza felt an immediate affinity to this track. It reminded her of her own wanderings. Headphones blaring, she would leave her lower east side tenement squat and just start walking till she got to the top of the city--and then turn around and walk back down. Her route back home often took her right down Madison Avenue.
“I remember how pristine the window displays were, how perfect, and how utterly unattainable” Kaye says. “One hat in the window cost more than I could live on for a couple of months. It made me painfully aware of the distance between humans. All the packaging and branding in the world couldn’t cover up how we separate from each other and pretend that the needier people don’t exist. Need frightens people cause when it comes down to it, they can’t identify or satisfy their own needs. And that isolates them”.
Esza teamed up with Dj Eddie X & Luigie Gonzalez of Madonna, Barbra and Donna fame to create a remix of Esza’s soulful interpretation of “Madison”. “Eddie and Luigie were so amazing to work with. They made me feel so comfortable. Luigie has an instant grasp of groove and Eddie knows exactly what people will dance too. A perfect team.”
And the results tell the story. This track debuted as number 3 on the Billboard Dance Breakout charts, and reached number 41 on the Billboard Dance Chart.
